Property Casualty 360 and Plymouth Rock Assurance just released a report on the most common at-fault accidents and how to prevent them.  It’s a great article with some constructive tips.

While many of the charter schools we insure don’t usually have very many vehicles, I think it’s still worth sharing the information. It will hopefully help you prevent any future claims.

Claim 1: Rear-End Collisions

Claim 2: Single-Vehicle Collisions – This is higher than I thought it would be on the list, but it makes sense when you consider all of the accidents that happen because of hazardous road conditions.  The article also mentioned that distracted driving is another reason single-vehicle collisions appear so high on the list. A texting driver is 23 times more likely to crash.

Claim 3: Collisions With A Parked Car

Claim 4: Collisions While Backing Up – According to the article, these types of crashes are most likely to happen when you are exiting a parking space or driveway without looking.

Claim 5:Out-Of-Lane Collisions – These are accidents where one of the drivers will change lanes into another vehicle.
